Director's Message

Dear Students and Parents,

A warm welcome to the American International School Brazzaville (AISB) for the 2018/19 school year. At AISB, our mission is to develop student intellect, character and a sense of community through an enriched American curriculum in a challenging, diverse and secure environment.

From the humble beginning in 2012, AISB has crossed many measurable milestones, one of which is the school's Accreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Today, AISB has become a dream destination for many expatriate and local families that live and work in Brazzaville. The school has grown from 55 to 110 students and as with the numbers, the diversity of the students and faculty has grown as well. With over 35 nationalities in our student body and about 10 nationalities within our teaching staff, friendship, international mindedness, diversity and inclusion are ways of life in our multi-cultural environment.

AISB has earned its outstanding reputation through its students' successes, its rigorous educational programs, its excellent and dedicated staff, its caring community and its engagement in global issues. The school's co-educational environment reflects the world in which our students will one day live and work. Beyond mastering academic disciplines, AISB students are taught to respect all people and things, to be honest with themselves and others, put forth maximum effort, and seek ways to support their communities. Consequently, our students engage in different extra-curricular activities to develop their interests, explore their talents, unearth their potential, and stretch their limits.

Welcome to the American International School Brazzaville. It is going to be a great school year and I am looking forward to seeing all of the students each day. Parents are welcome to visit and I look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone as the year progresses!

Best Regards

Dr. Laura Viban
